BHUTAN: OUR NEIGHBOR TO THE SOUTH
Very recently I went to Bhutan to visit a friend. I was already in India and from there it’s a hop (although an expensive hop) on Druk Air. Druk Air is the only airline flying in and out of Paro International Airport so what they charge you pay. So I paid and I sat in my window seat and there was this legend (below).
Sometimes it’s the small things that get you- like “Please fasten your seatbelt” written in your mother’s tongue or “Gyeltsen’s Carrier” written on the side of a cargo truck or “Sonam’s General Store” on the doorway of a convenience shop.
Wouldn’t it be a good and beautiful thing one day to fly Tibetan Airlines and to go to the airplane toilet and see “Flush” written in Tibetan?

That was taken with my iphone. I went to Bhutan without a camera, for which I suffered much comment. I'll send you the photo I have though. And I am back now. Vacation over...
i used to wonder the same, particulary when i saw a jam bottle named as 'druk' (it is a bhutanese product.

Yes. I was bringing back some 'Druk' pickles but they were confiscated at Calcutta airport. You would think airport officials would have more important things to confiscate than dalle pickles. Anyway it's very very cool place to go to and to see, especially for Tibetans. You really think, this is what it would be like, this is what it would be like.
It's great to travel around neighboring countries before the whole world. Tibet and Bhutan are just near each other. Though they have similarities like religion, you can also learn new things about each country. And I find that very interesting.
